The dish is called cassava leaves and it is green in color. They wash it first and then grind it before cooking. This recipe is from Sierra Leone west Africa.



People eat it two times a week. They cook it in a pot and eat it in a dish or plates. They serve it with rice.



I like it because it tastes good. You can eat it with meat and fish; it’s so beautiful. I also like it because it makes me remember my grandmother. She also used to cook it on weekends, so it’s my favorite food.

 



1 large onion
½ cup palm oil
1 large pepper
salt to taste
3 cups water
1 pound meat
½ white maggi (msg)

If you do not want your cassava bitter you should follow these steps.

First, wash the pot.  Turn on the oven like 6 minutes.  After that, put the palm oil, fish, and white maggi in the pot. 

Secondly, I use a wood spoon to mix it if it is boiling.  I add bell pepper and onion.  After that I put in the cassava leaves and keep boiling over ten minutes when I taste if it has finished cooking.
